Richmond Hill Rotary Internet Auction 2021
Richmond Hill Rotary is super excited to announce our Internet Auction 2021! Choose from a selection of Canadian artwork, sports memorabilia, home décor, electronics, jewelry and more. Do your holiday shopping from the comfort of your home.
Bids will close at 9pm on Saturday, December 4th. All funds raised will go to charities supported by Richmond Hill Rotary. Since Covid, your funds have gone to support:
2.Richmond Hill students plant trees in Oak Ridges moraine park
In a move to normalcy from the pandemic, 40 students from As-Sadiq Islamic School spent an afternoon planting tree and shrub seedlings at Oak Ridges Moraine Corridor Park in Richmond Hill, organized by Richmond Hill Rotary Club with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), the special planting took place on Oct. 28 in the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Reserve in the village of Oak Ridges.
Special TRCA protocols were in place to ensure safety.
3. Rotary Virtual Wine Event
Rotary Club of Richmond Hill hosted its second virtual wine event! The event was very successful, with support from members of Rotary District 7010 and members of our club. It was especially nice to see families of our members coming out to support the club and enjoy some great local wines. Galina, our wine steward from Chateau des Charmes Winery, was knowledgeable and entertaining. It was a fun night!

4. WOMEN OF INSPIRATION AND LEADERSHIP AWARD
The Rotary Club of Richmond Hill is very happy to announce its 2nd annual Women of Inspiration & Leadership Award, or WILA. The award recognizes a woman who has contributed to the greater good of the Richmond Hill Community through her leadership, achievement, and example of distinction. She may have done so through her contribution to a corporation, government, not-for-profit, start-up, or service to the community.
a 17-year-old photographer from Collingwood, Ont. In the past three years, she's walked the streets in her province in Toronto, Barrie and Kitchener, as well as in New York City, capturing the lives of the homeless with her photos.
Many of the portraits will be featured in her upcoming book. Nowhere to Call Home — Photographs and Stories of the Homeless will be released in the fall, with all proceeds going to the Barrie Bayside Mission Centre.
2. Valarie Wafer - Director International
Rotary International Director 2020-22, Chair Rotary International Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force, Rotary International Vice President 2021-2022. A charismatic and inspiring speaker, she spoke about many topics of interest. She congratulated our clubs in particular, and Rotary clubs in general for making the adjustments to harness technology to remain relevant in throughout the Covid pandemic. She discussed the progress that Rotary continues to make to become more Diverse, Equal and Inclusive.

Update on the Water Project in Uganda & the Ongutoi Health Centre.
