On Thursday, the Rotary Club of Richmond Hill presented a cheque for $1650 to the Richmond Hill Public Library to support literacy in our community, and in particular the Forest of Reading Author Festival.  In this program, famous authors are in house with kids from our public schools discussing all about writing and reading books.  Our own Shelagh Harris, Co-Director of our Literacy & Vocational Services gave an account of a day with 135 kids with an author recently.  She was impressed with the questions the kids had with the author and the conversation that went on.

Accepting the cheque on behalf of the Richmond Hill Public Library Board was Mr. David Bishop.  Representing the club were club president by Emmanuel Abara, Dr. C.P.Giri, Mr.Stephen Knight and Shelagh Harris .
